RITA KIMBERLEY MERRICK

Rita spent seven years as solo English Horn with the Illinois Symphony, the Peoria Symphony, and as principal oboe in the Peoria Opera and now is a freelance musican, performing throughout Indiana, Illinois,and Michigan.

In the fall of 1993 she began her position with Fox Products Corporation as an oboe technician and tester. Most of her time was spent working exclusively on the professional models. During her seven years at Fox Products, Rita completed the padding and finishing work on literally thousands of oboes. Her knowledge of the English Horn was a major influence in the research and development of the new Fox English Horn bocal in 1998 and the Fox English Horn which made it’s debut at the International Double Reed Convention in August of 1999.
